Mayday is the homie from north of the border and she came through killer style with this hyphy/bmore/electro set! She is and will be the only non-stateside DJ on these mixes, but i like her swag on the decks so much (after seeing her live) that i had to get her on one of the mixes. I knew of hyphy and the hyphy movement but never really listened to the songs, but if this is what it is about, i am down. There is just a bunch of everything up in this mix (including cutting it up by her on the decks). Seriously this mix is the biznazz. "Jump On It" is my jizzzzam.
Machete comes with *let me clear my throat* thee best back2back sessions mix, period. I love all the mixes i get but this is my favorite. I did the Sessions for 2 reasons (when i began), a) to get music into the hands of the people because i thought djs were slacking on doing mixes that fans could take home and b) because i wanted more mixes from some of my favorite artists in the states. This mix is a personal favorite!!! I have listened to it about 40+ times already. Ol Skool Hip Hop (and i mean wanna jump up and slap yo mama ol skool) at itz finest. I can't even pick a favorite tune!!! Shout out to the underrated 3rd Base. Without them there is no MF Doom or Nas...bet!
